Board Members

President: Valerie Egan
Valerie Egan is Head of Resourcing, North America for Linde, formerly BOC, a leading gases and engineering company. In this role, she manages the staffing function as well as providing oversight to an outsourced vendor. Prior to Linde, Valerie Egan was AVP, Employment Operations with Aon Human Capital Services. In this capacity, she supported AT&T for 7 years and specialized in management recruitment, college/university relations and non management staffing. Prior to joining AT&T, Valerie worked for Merrill Lynch in New York City for 18 years in various human resources capacities, primarily specializing in technology recruitment, college recruiting and employee relations. She holds a B.S. in Marketing Management from St. Peter's College and a Masters of Business Administration from Pace University. Valerie is a member of the Morris County Chapter of SHRM and currently holds a Board position of President. She has also spent many years as a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of America.
President-Elect: Connie Ward, PHR
Ms. Ward has been a member of SHRM National since 1993 and has held a number of volunteer positions over the last nine years with the Morris County New Jersey Chapter. With a BA in Broadcast Communication from William Paterson University, Connie has leveraged her people and business skills into a successful career specializing in Talent Acquisition. Connie is currently a Global Functions- Recruiting Manager at MERCK responsible for Audit and Compliance, Finance and Human Resources. Connie also formed her own consulting firm, C Ward Consulting, LLC in 2002, which provides strategic recruiting assistance to all size companies in various verticals. Connie's 20+ years of hiring know-how, which includes both corporate (Panasonic/ADP/Avaya) and recruitment service firms (Livingston Consulting Group/T Williams Consulting), has equipped her with strong networking roots, world class process expertise, and the abilities to rapidly acclimate herself to new roles and to devise and deploy winning strategic recruiting outcomes. Connie resides in Long Valley, New Jersey where she enjoys motorcycle rides and RV excursions with her husband and two children.
Corporate Secretary: Kim Latham, PHR
Kim Latham PHR, is the Director of Human Resources for Rudolph Technologies, Inc., a provider of high-performance inspection and metrology systems and full-fab software solutions for semiconductor manufacturers around the world. In her role as Director, she leads the HR team and delivers innovative programs and services that support the business strategy and objectives. Kim has 20 years of human resources experience in the high-tech and healthcare industries. She holds a M.S. in Human Resources Management from Seton Hall University. Kim has served on the Executive Board of the SHRM Morris County Chapter since 2000 in the capacity of VP Finance and VP Programs.
Vice President-Communications: Kathy Bender, SPHR
After serving 15 years in corporate Human Resource and Organizational Development leadership positions, Kathy Bender, SPHR, founded KB Management Consulting in 2001. In this capacity, Kathy partners with CEOs of growing organizations to help them get the most for their human capital investment, and serves as a project resource to HR Executives of larger companies who have high accountability but limited staff. Kathy believes strongly in networking with other HR and business professionals to stay abreast of industry and employment trends, and to nurture referral and partnering resources. In addition to her role as the Chapter's Communication Vice President, she is involved with the NJ Technology Council, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce and the NJ Organizational Development Learning Community. She holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton, SPHR and Predictive Index® Analyst Certifications.
Vice President-Professional Initiatives: Sherrill Curtis, SPHR
Sherrill Curtis, SPHR is the Founder and Principal of Curtis Consulting Group, LLC, established in 2002. Clients such as Twinings Tea, Montblanc North America, LVMH Watch & Jewelry USA and TaxStream, LLC have engaged her twenty years of corporate experience for strategic business management and planning, coaching, skill development workshops, human resource projects, corporate communications and event design. In addition to her frequent guest speaking engagements for audiences of all ages and backgrounds, Sherrill is an adjunct faculty member and SHRM Learning System Instructor with several NJ colleges and universities. In her current SHRM volunteer role, she is responsible for creating and managing the community outreach activities of six Committees. In November, 2005, the chapter was honored with SHRM National’s prestigious Pinnacle Award for the Work Force Readiness program Sherrill created and delivered with the students of Unity Charter School in Morristown.
Vice President-Finance: Renée W. Oliver, PHR
Renée W. Oliver, PHR, has over 12 years of experience in the fields of Human Resources and Business Operations. She has held positions at Hoffmann La-Roche Pharmaceuticals (now Roche Group) in partnership with Talent Tree Staffing, Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel-Lucent), and Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Her most recent position was at Accenture, a global management consulting and outsourcing company. Here, she provided financial and human capital management support for Morgan Stanley offshore resources.
Renée holds a B.S. in Business Management/Human Resources from the College of St. Elizabeth, a Master Certificate in Human Resources Management from Villanova University, and a Certificate in Human Resources Professional Development from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She recently earned her PHR in 2009.
Vice President-Membership/Registration: Irene Tallody, PHR
With over twenty years in the fields of human resources and information technology, Irene Tallody, PHR, is a Senior Human Resources Generalist for Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a leading specialty pharmaceutical company in Morristown. Here, she supports and partners with her client divisions in Brand and Generics in the areas of recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management and development and training. Irene has always maintained a strong passion for hard work and excellence. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Vice President-Programs: Christine Fabrycki, PHR
Chris Fabrycki, PHR was most currently a Sr. Recruitment Manager at Avaya in NJ, responsible for hiring for all the corporate centers, including HR, IT, Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics for all US positions. Previous assignments included Manager of College and University Relations at Telcordia Technologies. This position included responsibility for all college recruiting and hiring including relationships with key schools, diversity media planning, co-op and summer internship programs. In previous assignments, managed sourcing and recruitment research. BA in English, a certificate in HR Management and PHR certification.
Vice President-Legislative Affairs: David Lichtenberg, Esq.
Immediate Past President: Lora Boltniew, SPHR
Lora is the HR Manager for the New York Metro Internal Audit Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, a global provider of client services. Prior to her tenure at PwC, Lora worked at NeighborCare (now Omnicare), a pharmaceutical services provider, in the roles of HR Generalist, HR Manager and Regional Recruiter for pharmacies throughout NJ and PA. In the five years that she's been a member of the chapter, Lora has served in the following roles: Registration Committee (co-chair), Membership Committee (chair), Programs Committee (VP). A graduate of Rutgers College with a degree in Biology, Lora also received her PHR certification in 2002
Chair Persons
Certification Chair: Judy Treibman, SPHR
Judy is currently Human Resources Manager for Kirusa at their corporate offices in New Providence, New Jersey. She is responsible for all human resources activities: recruitment; employment; benefits administration; payroll and employee relations/communications.
Over the last twenty years, Judy has held a variety of HR and corporate positions; 15 of which were with Schindler Elevator Corporation. Her IT experience was at Altara, a Microsoft Business Solutions reseller where she was an HR Generalist. Most recently Judy was HR Director at Beacon Healthcare. Her progressive experience includes: administration of all HR functional areas; creating and implementing compensation programs; conducting surveys and analysis for improved employee morale; and creating reward and recognition programs.
Judy earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and assists with Certification activities for the chapter. Judy previously served as SHRM Foundation Chair. She continues to actively volunteer her services for the advancement of the HR community in a variety of chapter programs.
Communications Chairperson: Kara Kasch
Kara Kasch is currently the Human Resources Coordinator at Biomet located in Parsippany, NJ, where she has worked since 2005. In this role, she provides support to the HR Manager and field Sales Management with recruiting and the on-boarding process for new employees. She also handles HRIS data entry and maintenance of applicants, new hires, and personnel changes. Kara prides herself on being tech savvy and is always looking for ways to translate that strength into creating more efficient and automated HR processes. Currently pursuing her Bachelors in Management from Rutgers University (with just one year to go), she plans to continue her education to achieve her PHR and MBA.
Finance Chair: Jon Olson
Foundation Chairperson: Shannon Eick
Shannon is the Corporate Human Resource Representative for Bohler Engineering at their corporate offices in Warren, NJ. As an HR Generalist, Shannon provides support for five (of their 12) branches along the East Coast. Her primary responsibilities include: employee relations, training and development; and assisting with benefits administration. Prior to Bohler, she managed the college recruiting program, employee relations and event coordination for Wiss & Company in Livingston, NJ – a role they created for her.
Shannon became interested in volunteering for the Morris County Chapter simply to help out and become more involved with the local Human Resources community. She was interested in the Foundation Chair role because of her enthusiasm and passion for spreading the word about advancements and current events in the Human Resources field. Shannon enjoys coordinating events and is looking forward to expanding her fundraising skills in order to raise donations and awareness for the Foundation. She received her degree in History and a minor in Psychology from Rutgers University. In 2009 she plans to sit for the HRCI exam to obtain her PHR certification.

Professional Employment Services Chair: Laurie Murphy
Laurie Murphy is the President and CEO of PeopleAreKey, Inc., a recruiting and talent management consulting firm based in Cranford, NJ that serves clients in a wide variety of industries. Recruiting all types of HR, Training, and OD professionals for full-time employment and contracting assignments is a specialty focus for PeopleAreKey. Laurie has extensive HR/OD knowledge and experience from managing a recruiting/consulting firm for 10+ years, and previously serving in management/executive level corporate HR positions for 15+ years (including responsibility for recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and training and organizational development functions). She has built a strong reputation as a highly credible and trustworthy recruiter/consultant who understands needs, meets or exceeds expectations, and maintains long-term relationships with clients and candidates.
Laurie has been a member of the Morris NJ SHRM Chapter for more than 15 years. She currently serves as the Chapter's Professional Employment Services Chair and facilitates the In-Transition Networking Group, and previously served as Diversity Chair for more than five years. She also has served for over five years as Co-President of the New Jersey Human Resource Planning Group (NJHRPG), and previously as Co-President of the NJ Chapter of the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruitment (IACPR -NJ) for over five years. She is an active member of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) and participates in various career and leadership development initiatives sponsored by that organization. Additionally, Laurie frequently mentors and counsels individuals with respect to their career development goals through formal programs and individual interactions.
Program Logistics Chair: David Moran
Sponsorship Chair: Dawn Sconzo, PHR
Dawn Sconzo, PHR is a Business Consultant for PERFECTsoftware, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and SaaS provider for HR, Payroll and Talent Management Solutions. Dawn is focused on new business development for companies with 100+ employees. Dawn has over 15 years experience in HR and payroll. Prior to PERFECTsoftware, Dawn worked for CheckPoint HR in a new business development role. Additional roles include Implementation and Sales with ADP for over 7 years.
Dawn earned her bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University. She is a licensed health and life broker and PHR certified.
Volunteers Chair: Laura Coble
Laura Coble is currently the Employee Services Coordinator at Linde located in Murray Hill. In this role, she supports the hiring managers and staffing team for North America with the on-boarding process for new employees, which includes background checks, drug screens, offer letters and new hire paperwork. She also manages Linde’s Matching Gift Program. Currently, she is working on the implementation of an automated new hire process, which will eliminate the use of any paper forms. Prior to Linde, Laura was employed by Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti, LLP as a Recruiting Coordinator. At Riker Danzig, Laura was responsible for new hire orientations, assisting in full-cycle lateral recruiting, coordinating on-campus interviews and managing the Summer Associate Program. Laura received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in English from the University of Hartford. She has been a member of the Morris County Chapter for just over a year, where she began assisting Kathy Bender in Communications.
Workforce Readiness Chair: Suzanne Sena, PHR
Suzi is passionate about helping individuals, groups, and organizations aspire to their career and life dreams. She does this through individual career coaching, career development workshops, assisting schools and organizations in designing workforce readiness programs, and building successful teams in organizations.
After several years working in corporate human resource environments Suzi transitioned to career counseling at the university level. Currently, she works as a school based counselor which combines her interests and talents in assisting adolescents and families reach their career achievement capacities.
Suzi serves as the Work Force Readiness Chairperson for the Society for Human Resource Management - Morris County Chapter. Through this volunteer role, she facilitated partnerships with Neighborhood House, Dress for Success, Jersey Battered Women’s Services and other community based outreach organizations. She was recently honored with SHRM’s prestigious Work Force Readiness Pinnacle Award for the year long school based program she co-created and delivered.
She received her M.A. degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her studies took her to the UK where she studied international business and cultural studies at Wroxton College. Her certifications include: Professional in Human Resource Management (PHR), and Professional Resume Writer (CPRW). She is certified to interpret the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII). Always on a quest to learn more, Suzi is currently completing her second Masters degree in Counseling at Kean University.

Certification Advocate: Jeff Connolly, SPHR
Jeff is a senior HR Generalist with extensive leadership experience. He has created and led HR initiatives from compensation to succession planning with diverse groups such as: HSBC, Washington Mutual, Ernst & Young, Western Union and Southeastern, Inc. Jeff received his SPHR designation in January of 2006. Since then, serving as the chapter’s Certification Chair, he has created successful initiatives such as the HRCI exam study group and manages the annual Scholarship program. Jeff continues to dedicate his volunteer activities to assisting HR professionals with achieving their certification credentials.
