ABOUT OUR PROGRAM:

All leaders are familiar with employees who exhibit “below standard” performance.  Too often, managers are reticent to directly deal with these performance issues.  As a result, employee performance continues to deteriorate and may eventually poison the team culture.  This session will focus on practical strategies and tips for addressing employee performance issues, including how to get the most out of your organization’s performance management system.  Many organizations invest a great deal of time and resources on improving their performance management systems.  Yet, these changes frequently do not have the desired impact.  This session will provide insight into best practices for effective performance management, based on the results of recent research.

Details Specifically, the session will cover topics such as:

  • Understand how to clearly define “below standard” performance
  • Review the seven ways to head off performance issues at the pass—before they poison the culture of the team
  • Learn how to avoid the most common pitfalls in dealing with performance issues
  • Understand how to leverage your organization’s performance management system—turn performance management from an administrative task into a value-added tool that drives your business
  • Understand the key factors that impact people’s perception of the effectiveness of performance management, including fairness, accuracy, and overall value to the business
